Terry Thomas and the Magic outlast Halifax in OT 111 - 106

Dec14 Final

(Moncton, NB: December 14, 2017)

The Moncton Magic played the first game of their road trip against the Halifax Hurricanes Thursday night at the Scotiabank Centre.

After the dust settled in what was an intense matchup from start to finish, the Magic took the overtime win 111-106. This was also Moncton's first shot at the Halifax team, giving them a promising start to their season in beating last year's defeated finalists.

The Magic have had the Hurricanes in their sights since the season began and came out swinging. The Hurricanes, fresh off a second place finish in the 2016-2017 season, did not give up easily.

Terry Thomas had a heroic performance, putting the team on is back for much of the game and leading the box score with eight rebounds and 36 points.

Not far behind Thomas, Anthony Anderson also had a massive offensive contribution with his 32 total points, Al Stewart put up 12 in addition to his eight rebounds and seven assists.

The Hurricanes were led by Billy White for most of Thursday's game, who finished with 12 rebounds and 24 points; CJ Washington had 25.

The 'Road Show' has officially started; the Moncton Magic will next head to Saint John to play the Riptide Sunday December 17th, after which they will play the Highlanders in back-to-back games in Cape Breton Tuesday, December 19th and Wednesday, December 20th.

The Magic will return home December 29th to play the Saint John Riptide 7:00pm at the Moncton Coliseum.
