A little rest puts moncton back in the win column

(Kitchener, Ontario: January 17, 2018)

The KW Titans hosted the Moncton Magic Wednesday night for the last game of their Ontario tour and second last of their five-game road trip. Both teams entered desperate for a win, the Magic are ranked 3rd in the East coming off two away losses, the Titans won their most recent, but are ranked last in the league.

Wednesday's matchup proved to be a game of runs with the two teams tying in the first, the Magic going up by 12 in the second, after a push by the Titans we saw another tie 71-71 at the end of the third, after which the Magic made a final effort with a 10-0 run which led them to a 110-99 win.

The Magic had a great team performance Wednesday seeing six players in double digits with Terry Thomas, game MVP, at the helm finishing with 22 points seven rebounds and two assists.

Jason Calliste has continued to make a mark sinking all three of his shots behind the arc for a total of 14 points seven rebounds. Corey Allmond also made 14 points while Tirrell Baines, Al Stewart, and Anthony Anderson all had 12, Baines also making eight rebounds.

Justin Hurtt and Derek Hall created most of the Titans' offence finishing with 17 and 16 respectively at the end of Wednesday night's game. Hall also had 10 assists.

The Moncton Magic will now travel to Cape Breton to play the Highlanders Saturday, then return home for a game against the Charlottetown Island Storm, Wednesday January 24th at the Coliseum.
