(Moncton, NB: February 10th, 2018)
After returning home from a quick trip to St John's where they went 1-1, the Moncton Magic hosted the Cape Breton Highlanders Saturday night at the Coliseum.
The Highlanders, who beat other NB team, the SJ Riptide on Thursday, were not so fortunate on Saturday, falling quickly to an unbelievably dominant Magic offensive. The Magic, who were at their peak up 44 points, took this match 147-109.
The home team, shooting around 50% as a whole from both field goal range and from the arc, was able to dramatically outscore Cape Breton in the first three quarters. They went: +7 in the 1st, +12 in the 2nd, + 19 in the 3rd, and finally went point-for-point in the 4th.
Brent Jennings was among Moncton's top performers and was awarded Player of the Game for finishing with 25 total points, 5 rebounds, and making 7 of his 10 attempted 3-pointers.
Next on the box score was Corey Allmond who, also hot from the arc, sunk 6 of those for 24 points. Anthony Anderson had another terrific game, he ended with 20 points and 6 rebounds, Jeremy Williams dropped a 14-point 10-rebound double-double.
Shane Osayande and Kevin Loiselle led for the visiting Highlanders scoring 22 and 20 points respectively.
